Assorted Chibis - KH Edition

Sense this is just one series in this Special Edition Assorted Chibis most people will know, rather then discuss the characters, I decided, in my half asleep daze, to instead go about my feelings towards this franchise and what I really hope to come of it now that the final chapter of 'The Seeker of Darkness' story line has begun production.

In my lifetime thus far, I have experience three franchises in videogames that just made me go 'wow! This is Awesome! It touches on much of what I like and what I want to see in a game!'. The first was the Legend of Zelda, Link's Adventure on the NES first and then Majora's Mask years later on the N64 to rekindle that love. The third franchise was dot.hack, the original quintilogy of games for the PS2 fueled by the anime prologue, SIGNS. But the franchise I consider my all time favorite, the one that has made me buy consoles just for it, including the PS2 itself, is Kingdom Hearts.

I love the KH franchise. I've played every single game I can get my hands on. I didn't even know about Final Fantasy until this game and... still really not that interested in it as a whole but I'm weird. But when I saw the first commercials for it in the US and I saw a combination of Disney and anime characters, I was freaking out thinking 'holy shit! They've combine my two favorite things ever into a game!' and I got my step-dad at the time (he's gone now, good riddance to the lazy, manipulative bum) to buy the console and I just played the heck out of that game. I was so enthralled and in love with how they meshed everything together that I was hooked to the franchise. Chain of Memories and KH2 came and I found myself loving it so much more as I found myself completely engrossed in what was going on, curious about what was happening and the future of the franchise.

While many more games came along, 358/2 Days(cool), Coded(not so cool), Birth by Sleep(loved), and most recently 3D(wonderful), I was biting at the bits wanting to play KH3 and growing more embittered not with Kingdom Hearts or Disney but with Square Enix for spending nearly 7 years on one game and the guys in charge saying 'we aren't going to start work on KH3 till this is done'. After the not great but OK games of Epic Mickey and Epic MIckey 2, I was almost hoping Disney themselves would take over. So naturally, when they finally revealed that FF15 is FINALLY nearing completion I assume and THEN revealed production had begun for KH3, I was flipping my shit along with many others on the internet. Though bummed that, as of right now its only going to be for the XBoned and PS4, I still hold on to a sliver of hope somewhere down the line they'll maybe figure out how to bring a version to the Wii U. If need be, though, I know what my first game for PS4 will be.

I hope this franchise finally starts to see more love from Square in the coming years and hope Disney itself embraces it more, maybe even include a version of the game in Disney Infinity. Am I the only one that would want figures of the three knights (but mostly Aqua)? I truly do love this franchise, love the characters, love how the Disney characters are meshed in and will enjoy finally moving to the climax of this, at the best of times, epic story.
