"Wait, what's that?" Rukia wondered, spying an oddly colored hair. It was... red? Well that was unusual.

Rukia looked at the strand, puzzled, till she noticed something else. More hairs on her head were all starting to turn the same color of red, starting at the tips and working there way up. A curl also began to appear in her hair

"What's happening?" Rukia wondered, fascinated as the red color spread up and curled her hair, unaware that wasn't the only color changing going on...

I know what you intebd with number 2 but for some reason I cant help but picture rukia as a gremlin, I need to get them out of my head.
