The idea here was what would happen to Raven if her father or someone discovered how to remove Raven's humanity, leaving only her demon blood, thus making her a full blooded demon.
To protect her friends, Raven used many ancient seals and amulets on herself to seal the bulk of her demonic energy, the the effect has left Raven small and shriveled. But, every now and then, the demonic energy builds up and even the seals can't hold back Raven's true form and she can't control herself as she goes mad with power.
Raven isn't the only one to go demon. Just wait till you see two of her friends who got caught off guard during one of Raven's 'lapses'....

I really like that sealed/released dichotomy. It's a good externalization of her inner conflict with her emotions. Does she still recognizes herself in demon form, or she perceives it as a separate entity?
