SugarCoated Azula - Reunion

Lao and Poppy Bei Fong arrived in the Fire Nation a place they never really thought they go. In fact if you had asked them just one year ago this would have been the very last place that they would have ever wanted to willingly head to of their own free will.

Her parnets had come the realization that the child they thought they had was an illusion and that they had been willingly to see her for who she was even when she show it to them in full. There were signs that they had overlook that Toph was the helpless blind girl they thought she was. The fact that she get around the mansion on her own without any help at all unless she was on wood or metal should be at least sparked their curiosity but it did not. Then the real shock came when they heard news of Toph meeting the King in Ba Sing Se as well her role in helping prevent him from being overthrown as well as the good news they been hearing about how much of master Earthbender she was. Though they had change of heart they fear Toph would never want to speak to them again after hiring the very same people that kidnapped her once before to do so again. That all changed when they got a letter signed by the water tribe boy, Sokka, was the name Lao believed he
was called. Stating that they needed to come to Fire Nation as something had happened to Toph. Though the letter did not really go into details it did state that it was best to explain what had happened to her in person. It also went on to explain that they were no position to leave at the moment so the Avatar’s Flying Bison and Iroh came to pick them.

The whole way there both Bei Fongs were wondering just what happened to their daughter even though Iroh assured them she had not been seriously hurt nor that she had been killed or anything like that. However he did dodge the subject of what exactly happened to her with constantly with stories of what was happening in Fire Nation at the moment. This was how they learned the war was over as Ozai got visit from Azula which for some reason he was completely unaware of just how big a mistake he had making. The result of being ignoring what was going on in his children’s lives if did not have personal effect on him. Shortly after the visit happened Ozai was found a broken man and the Fire Nation Palace was abandoned as Azula took over and began decorating it to look more happy like her herself and what she had done for Ty Lee. Eventually one brave soul managed to lure them out to the Palace and away from the capital itself. Everyone decided that that
person would go down not only in Fire Nation history but world history as hero amongst hero. He braved what broke lesser men even Ozai himself down completely. Zuko now the Firelord himself issue a new law that trackers keeping their distance of course keep tabs on Azula at all times so that no one could get caught seeing something that no person not under the influence of Cactus juice should ever…ever see.

However all the stories of what had been happening outside the town of Gaoling were interesting but the one they had really cared about was not getting told. What had happened to Toph that was so big that they could only see it in person. Lao was worried of course however his wife Poppy was utterly petrified by the notion of just what this condition her only child was suffering from. She had not even let go of the letter once on the whole trip to the Fire Nation.

Once they had gotten off Appa, Iroh warned them to be prepare as this would be shock to their system as it took him and the other half a day to process it themselves at least fully. Nodding the two parnets heard what sound like their daughter but in tone they were familiar with however that only made them more worried in fact(since she used that tone mostly when playing the role of daughter they thought she was rather then who she really was).

“Really Mother and Father are here” Toph said excitedly.

“I still do not know why you insist on calling them your ‘mother’ and ‘father’. We are robots after all, so we do not have parnets just creators and that what they are nothing more ” Katara said.

Their programming was suppose to having them thinking of the Lin Kuei as their creators. However because the screw up in the process which lead to them being as they are now so did who the two of them view as their creators. Rather then the Lin Kuei they view their parnets as their creators though only Toph still referred to them as such. While Katara simply called Hakoda by his name, old human, or number of other things but ‘father’ or ‘Dad’ was never one of them.

Excusing him Iroh left as the two parents get ready for the big shock that so big it just had to be seen in person. When it happened they saw the reason why they just had to come in person when Toph came into their view.

This first thing they noticed as it was very hard to miss in the fact that their daughter now had green metallic skin. But on top that shock it was what she was wearing that completely caught them off guard in that it was very girly outfit that she had always seem to be so against before.

“MOMMY! DADDY! You’re here” she yelled out she jumped into her father’s lap and began rattling on and on about the what she had been doing seen she had first been activated. In addition to how she would do her best at everything she had been programmed to do.

“What about fighting and earthbending” Lao asked as his mind was on the verge of breaking down for everything she mention she had been programmed for seem to be the exact oppposite of who she was. In fact it seem more and more like this ‘Toph’ before him was not his daughter’s true self but the overly girly version of the person she pretended to be around him until the avatar showed up.

“I do not like to fight as that not something a proper lady like myself should do. Katara loves to fight though and she really should not, never understood why Mr. Hakoda had programmed like that. She still my best friend but you do not have worry as I only use bending to defend myself if you or Katara are not around to protect me Daddy” Toph said

Lao could only let out a stained laugh as that was it his mind snapped and he had mental meltdown for here before him was metallic version of his daughter not acting as herself but as the child always believed that he had until he learned otherwise.

Though all this Poppy was relatively silence as she had spoken a word nor moved an inch from where she was standing. The reason for that was because Poppy was petrified…literally. The woman had actually reach a level of shock so high that thanks to the weakening reality she had become a stone statue version of herself.
