The Doctor: So, where to first? The malls of New York? The childrens colony of Giggle Poof 7?
Shin: How about you send me home and turn me back from being a 10 year old girl?
The Doctor: I can't do that yet! I'm a 9 year old girl and I must explore what this half regeneration is like while it lasts!
Shin: -.-;

So yeah, after a strange accident, the doctor half regenerated, still having the same mind and personality as the eleventh but in the body of a 9 year old 'ginger' girl, something he was happy for for the ginger part. Shin, who the doctor found after just being TGed into a 10 year old girl, was quickly wrangled by the doctor to assist her in studying the habits of little girls both human and alien.
