New Year (2023) Updates
Hi everybody! Got a quick update as tied to Lore and commissions related to it for this year: Firstly, I have posted an update to the schedule over on the website: https://owlquill.com/ Not a major change for the moment, just some shuffling, but wanted to keep this up-to-date for all of the readers. A more major shake up for the schedule will come in another month or two when Mechanics and Cyber finish up their main story branches. So stayed tuned for that. On the subject of pricing, this year I'm doing a minor price increase to two Lore prices - the OG format found here on DA and the Mama Bear sized pages for Owl Quill are both seeing a dollar increase - so DA Format is now $16 and Mama Bear pages are $36. This price increase is minor to allow easier math for myself when commissioners decide to split the cost. Now no more .50¢ divisions that hurt my brain to figure out at 11 pm at night on commissions. Check Up Time from the Owl
Hello there! I have not been as vocal as I have been in the past when it comes to keeping you all informed of whats going on with the work flow on Deviant Art and for that I apologize - the Discord group is very useful for keeping the most dedicated informed but I realize that for some who might not be as frequent viewers or brand new to these parts, plans and such might be going unknown to others. As the content for Owl Quill has grown, the most dedicated of commissioners for Lore have been pulling up stakes and moving over there for many of the new format pages - whether its bringing over an old favorite rejuvenated or creating new lines from many new possibilities. Firing a Broad Side on OpenSea
So, couple days ago, two of my art pieces were taken and used as NFTs on OpenSea. I contacted them to have it removed and eight days later, no response. Luckily, someone on my Discord posted this helpful tip: In short, if OpenSea wont do anything or requires a ridiculous amount of info - basically needing you to dox yourself without the culprit needing to provide any proof - you can go to Google, OpenSea's image host, and ask THEM to remove it. I filed a DMCA on the two art pieces and in less than five hours, both images have been removed, leaving just a 'loading' icon on the NFTs and, once again, proving that the NFTs are not the art, they are just the links to said art. If you or an artist you know is having trouble, share them this information so they can get this process rolling to get their art removed.
Art Thief Shaming - NFT Edition
Hey! It's been a while sense I had to report someone! And now that we live in the age where people think they can get rich off NFTs, of course some people want to randomly grab art off DA and post them for sale. Here's the guy I just ran into after DeviantART reported him to me: https://opensea.io/0x7d774855b82e243c3453cc36728a85ce5bf30f33 I've found two pieces of my art under his tab and have already reported them as stollen art that I gave no permission to sell. But I saw a number of other art pieces I recognize from fellow artists. I would legit take a quick look through and report any of the other pieces to the artists you recognize as the DA NFT report thing is only for Core members and I don't know how many of the artists who've had art stollen have Core to get reported or not. Remember, whether you are into NFTs or not, its still not okay to take someone else's art and claim it as your own. This includes selling it.
